Time Commitment Required
The course runs over three months (13 weeks) and requires a time commitment of 6-8 hours per week.
Course Structure
The course comprises of pre-recorded self-learning modules and live mentoring sessions.
Each class group will comprise of 6-8 course participants
and will have a distinguished research leader as its mentor.
Week -1: The course will commence with a live introductory class to go over the course objectives, curriculum, and expectations.
Week -2 to Week -4: The next three weeks will comprise of self-learning. Participants will be required to complete the pre-recorded modules which have been designed to provide the foundational knowledge of writing a research paper. All participants should complete the pre-recorded training modules by the end of Week 4.
Week -5 to Week -13: Live weekly mentoring sessions will start from Week 5 and continue till Week 13. These sessions will be conducted by your research mentor who will guide the group on the research and writing of a research paper. The research mentor will guide the topic selection and assign roles and responsibilities for conducting the research and writing the paper.
By the end of Week -13, you will have a submission-ready manuscript / research paper with you as a co-author.
Published Research Paper
Publishing a submission-ready research paper in a peer-reviewed journal can take an additional two months. Your research mentor will continue to support you in the role of corresponding author until the research paper has been published. The mentor will submit the prepared research paper to a suitable journal and coordinate all future communication with the journal. If revisions are required on peer-review, the learning group will be tasked to do the revisions.
